Precinct 5 Nike Destroyer Jacket Video

Precinct 5 Nike Destroyer from Masta Lee on Vimeo.

I WANT ONE OF THESE JACKETS. Unfortunately, Nike awarded Amsterdam's Precinct 5 running team these jackets EXCLUSIVELY. As in they will NOT be for sale commercially. #BOO. As for the video though, I always liked the way smaller fashion companies do their ads almost like mini-docs, and I'm starting to like the way Nike is doing it too (even though they have enough money to direct a Kanye West music video aka A LOTTA DOUGH).

Woodkid - Iron

Woodkid - Iron from WOODKID on Vimeo.

Very artistic music video... reminds me of the On To The Next One vid that Jay-Z did, minus the blatant masonic symbols. The song is pretty good too... I love the plethora of new music I've been discovering recently. I also love using the word plethora.

Hublot King Power Diver 4000m Titanium

I'm back... and better than ever(uhh...)!! I'm prolly gonna fall off in like two weeks, so let's try and enjoy this while it lasts, k? This watch is one of the more recent releases from the Swiss watch compan Hublot, and it's one of my favorites... almost reminds me of Green Lantern. There are green accents on the rubber strap and the titanium looks oh-so-smooth... no word as to when it's gonna be released yet though...

Lil Wayne - I Am Not A Human Being

Like the blacklight visuals. I personally feel that Lil Wayne is falling off lyrics wise from where he was. The amount of material he puts out, it's understandable. But this track, lyrics wise, is hit or miss for me. Hopefully dude been thinkin up some hot stuff in the clink. Cheq tha vid.

Wale speaks on KiD CuDi diss with DJ Drama

Last Friday, Wale called into DJ Drama’s show on Shade 45 to talk about his Birthday weekend and the success of “No Hands”. He also elaborated on Kid Cudi’s comments in Complex. It’s plain and simple: coke is no joke. Kid Cudi spoke on how he was using cocaine to get through long interviews, and Wale basically takes the rick james approach and says cocaine is a helluva drug lol. You can check the sound clip at RapRadar.

KiD CuDi disses Wale in COMPLEX magazine

Not sure if you guys were aware of this, but Cudi dissed Wale heavy in his interview. Wale's response coming up next.

Complex: Speaking of Wale, when you hit that fan at your show last December, he came out with a line about it ["Throwin' 'round wallets like the dude that Kid Cudi hit," from "Thank You Freestyle"].

Kid Cudi: It wasn’t a shot, it’s just a simple-ass rhyme by a simple-ass rapper. You can’t let that shit faze you. That’s one of those raps that just shows the world that you wack. Why would you even use that as a metaphor? Everybody think they Hov. Niggas ain’t got the magic like they think they do; there’s only a couple of wizards in this game. I’m a wizard and I know it.

Sleigh Bells "Infinity Guitars" from Phil Pinto on Vimeo.

I LOVE SLEIGH BELLS. There, I said it. Their music is revolutionary, and, I guess it kinda has to be since their signed to M.I.A.'s label. Even though it's not my favorite track from them, I'm just glad they are doing stuff. Anyway, cheq tha vid.

Kanye West x Common x Pusha T x Kid Cudi x Big Sean x Charlie Wilson - G.O.O.D. Friday

So, G.O.O.D. Fridays is a little initiative Kanye put together to try and revitalize the music industry with some quality tracks. Every week, he's releasing a new track. This is the third one I think, (not 100% sure cause I just started posting again,) and it's one of my favorites. Cheq it.

Diggy x DJ Spinking - Airborne (mixtape)

Dude Diggy is making heavy moves. Inducted into the All City Chess Club, got tracks with Lupe, one of the greatest lyricists in the game, AND he did it all on his own without help from his hip hop legend of a father. He deserves your attention. Cheq it.

The Hundreds New York City Grand Opening

The Hundreds - NYC from Zack McTee on Vimeo.

Oh shitaki. SoOo excited. 96 Grand Street NYC. First off, I love these kind of videos. They share much more than any writer could express or any speaker could say... it's all about the visual nowadays anyway. Consider me stunned with anticipation for my next NYC trip.

Andy Allo feat. Blu - Dreamland

Sorry for not posting in a minute, but school/money was the motivation behind my absence... plus, I wanted to make sure you got a good look at my musical endeavors below lol. Anyway, this track has a very mellow feel and I find the video creates complexity within simplicity. And Blu is a beast on any track he's on. Can't wait for the I'm Beamin remix. Cheq.

The Preface

DISCLAIMER: THE VOCALS ON SOME TRACKS ARE STILL KINDA SOFT! This project is more of a purge than anything at this point. Didn’t know a thing about recording when I started or how to flow over a beat when doing it, and I still have a lot to learn. But consider this a stepping stone… I’m already at the next plateau. Still, I did it all on my own (mostly) an believe there is plenty potential if you give it a good listen. Next project (The Epilogue) already shaping up, an... now that I know what I'm doing, there will be no issues (except with datpiff lol) So, without further ado, here it is: The Preface.

KMD on "Freestyling"

Kool Moe Dee on varying definitions of the word freestyle: "A lot of the old-school artists didn’t even respect what’s being called freestyle now... any emcee coming off the top of the head wasn’t really respected. The sentiment was emcees only did that if they couldn’t write. The coming off the top of the head rhymer ...had a built-in excuse to not be critiqued as hard."

Forest in a Box

Here's the skinny from Gizmodo.com

In a public plaza in Oosterdokskade, Amsterdam, DUS Architects installed the Unlimited Urban Woods. On the outside: a non-descript white box with a few square meter footprint. On the inside: a forest as far as the eye can see.

Using a series of strategically angled mirrors, DUS made the illusory forest from just a single full-size tree. Hedwig Heinsman, one of the architects behind the project, said, "It's a space with its own horizon, where you can flee the city in the middle of town." Of course, all those mirrors mean that you'll always be sharing your forest-in-a-box with a whole crowd of people who look uncannily like yourself.

Blu "Big Bang Big Boom"

BIG BAG BIG BOOM - the new wall-painted animation by BLU from blu on Vimeo.

This is not the musician Blu. This is the Blu that breaks ground in stop animation. And this is his most prolific piece yet. Watch all the way to the end, and learn about Blu's views on how the world came to be. Not my standpoint, but the message at the end is thought provoking.
